WESTERN NEW YORK HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS HELP RAISE $32,398 FOR KIDS ESCAPING DRUGS
The 19th Annual Walk For Kids presented by the National Honor Society (NHS) held on Sunday, May 20th at Como Lake Park in Lancaster was a great success.
The beautiful weather welcomed over 600 students on a 3-mile stroll through Como Lake Park, helping raise $32,398 for the Kids Escaping Drugs Campaign. The top fundraising school was Herbert Hoover Middle School, who raised a total of $4,619.25. In second place was Clarence High School, who raised a total of $3,673.06
After completing the 3-mile walk the students were invited to a fun-filled post party that took place at the Bowen Road Grove including food from Abbott Pizza, Upstate Farms, Dunkin’ Donuts and Sahlen’s.
Sponsors of the 19th Annual Walk for Kids include Channel 2, Coca-Cola, Sahlen’s, Mike Weber Greenhouses, D’Youville College, Trocaire College, Bremner Food Group, James Desiderio Wholesale Produce, Dunkin’ Donuts, Upstate Farms, UNYTS, AB&S Wholesale, Inc. and Bank of Holland.
